As a technical prerequisite, users need (in addition to the measurement hardware) a smartphone or tablet with internet access — both Apple and Android are supported. No high-end hardware is required — even mid-range devices that are several years old are supported. Currently, about 1 GB of free storage is required. If phones or tablets are already available, they can very likely be used.

The app has many small useful tools that have evolved from daily use. App Cannot Access nBox-Tool Since the app needs to access a local address (192.168…) to read measurement values from the hardware, the app must have permission to access the local network. For this, iOS displays a popup for the corresponding permission when the app is first used. If this permission is not granted at that point, or is later removed, the measurement hardware cannot be accessed. The app then displays the following error message: “The measurement hardware could not be reached.

The web portal provides access to the recorded data and manages licenses, mobile devices, and settings.
