Noise Investigation Measurement

During noise measurement, the app suggests noise sources from the database that match the current noise pattern.

Taking Measurements

  • Standardized measurement on both bands (FCC and CENELEC-A), recording 30 values each (the number can be adjusted in settings)
  • Detection of possible noise sources based on previously recorded measurements or, when using a company account, with the complete noise source database

Guided Workflow

  • Upon completion of measurements, you can add a description, comments, and photos
  • If needed, freely configurable extra fields can be added, e.g., for the PDF report or organizational purposes (such as noise source location, ticket number)
  • Data like ticket numbers can optionally be imported from Investigation Planning

  • When multiple measurements were made during noise hunting, these can be linked when finalizing the investigation.

Integration in Measurement Campaign

When using measurement campaigns, noise investigations must be captured within a measurement campaign:

  • In the PDF report of the measurement campaign, the noise investigation is chronologically ordered with other measurements
  • In the portal and in the app, the noise investigation is displayed under the associated measurement campaign

Mark as Not Relevant for Noise Source Database:

A noise investigation can optionally be marked as “not relevant for the noise source database” (the title also becomes optional). This way, PLC noise measurements can be embedded in the measurement campaign regardless of whether a noise source was found. See also Special Extra Fields

Measurement Archive

  • List of past measurements - which noise source, time, info on whether it was recorded with this mobile device
  • When linked to a company account, all measurements recorded within your organization are displayed (these are distributed to all mobile devices via the web portal)

Notes Regarding Network Connectivity

When your mobile device is connected to the nBox-Tool’s WiFi, the device’s mobile internet may not be available. This is the case for about half of mobile devices. For modern devices, the likelihood is higher that they allow WiFi and mobile internet in parallel.

Data synchronization in the app in this case will only work again after disconnecting from the nBox-Tool WiFi.
