Customizable capture and post-processing of additional information for all measurements tailored to your needs.

Extra Fields

Extra fields are freely configurable input fields. Extra fields are configured in the Web Portal.

Extra fields can be used with:

Extra Fields

Data Types

  • Text Field: Free text input, you can set the number of lines for the text field (default 1)
  • Selection List: Predefined values for selection
  • Checkbox: For yes/no values
  • QR Code Field: Capture via QR code scanner
  • Image: Take photos and/or import from gallery (e.g., for screenshots)

Options

  • Optional/Required: Fields can be marked as required and must then contain at least one character (or an image)
  • Active for: Selection of which types of measurements the field is available for
  • Default: Set a value that the field is pre-filled with
  • Selectable on Map: Only for extra fields of investigation tasks - in combination with the same field in a measurement, the info from an investigation task can be transferred to the measurement (e.g., ticket number)

The order of extra fields can be changed via drag & drop.

Format Validation: For text fields, format validation with a regular expression can be configured. For example, a JIRA ticket field can be restricted to a 4 or 5-digit number.

Extra Field as Link: Extra fields can be displayed as clickable links in the web portal. For this, a URL with placeholder is configured in the portal.

Example: A JIRA ticket field with value “12345” can be displayed as a link to https://jira.example.com/browse/PROJ-12345.

QR Code Scanning

Extra fields can be configured as QR code fields. With the press of a button, a QR code or Datamatrix code (e.g., of a smart meter) can be captured with the camera.

The scanned value is transferred to the corresponding extra field.

Special Extra Fields

Number of Phases: For Full PLC Checks and channel measurements, this field allows selecting the number of phases.

Noise Investigation Valid: For noise investigations, this field allows marking an investigation as valid or invalid. An invalid investigation is not added to the noise source database but is included in the measurement campaign for documentation purposes.

Post-Processing

For all extra fields (except Number of Phases), it can be specified whether they can be entered before or after the measurement.

  • If an extra field is configured for entry before and after the measurement, it can be (or must be if configured as required) captured before the measurement, and can still be edited after the measurement
  • If an extra field is configured only for before the measurement, it can be captured before the measurement and cannot be changed afterward
  • If an extra field is configured only for after the measurement, it can only be captured retrospectively after the measurement (and can still be changed afterward)

A corresponding screen can be opened from the respective archive entry.

Note: The actual measurement data cannot be edited - only the information captured via extra fields. For noise investigations, the title and comment can also be edited.

Display in Reports

The additional photos and free texts are displayed in the PDF reports for noise investigation and measurement campaign.

Privacy for Noise Investigations

For noise investigations, the additional photos and free texts are private data that do not flow into the general noise source database. All other measurements and measurement campaigns are private data that are only available in your account anyway.

Configuration

The extra fields are configured in the Web Portal under “Extra Fields”.

We are happy to support you with setting up the extra fields.
