Channel Measurement (PHY Channel)

The channel measurement (PHY Channel Testing) enables detailed analysis of the physical layer of PLC communication, and builds on the functionality of the same name in the nBox-Tool. Transmit mode and Tool-AUX PLC can also be configured. Channel Measurement Workflow After opening the channel measurement view, the displayed data is continuously updated. If no data is available yet (i.e., no packets have been received), this is indicated accordingly. The display on smartphones is compressed (abbreviation of modulation, reduced labeling of sub-bands) to keep all data visible.

Collaboration

The collaboration features enable teams to work together on measurement campaigns, share results, and control data visibility. Share Measurement Campaigns Measurement campaigns can be shared with other users. This allows multiple technicians to contribute measurements to the same campaign (e.g., to work in parallel or hand over work). Sharing in the App: A button on the measurement campaign allows sharing with another user. To set up sharing for a measurement campaign, the mobile device must have an internet connection at that time.

Fleet Management

Configuration Through the Web Portal, the availability of features and settings for the app can be automatically preconfigured for all devices. Company-wide App Defaults: Settings that can be configured in the app can be preconfigured in the Web Portal for all devices. For each setting, you can specify whether individual users are allowed to change (override) these settings. Enable Features: Many settings determine whether functionality is available - enable what you need.

Full PLC Check

The Full PLC Check captures a snapshot of the PLC (Power Line Communication) status in a guided workflow across all 3 phases. Within minutes, a comprehensive overview of the network status is automatically generated - immediately available on the mobile device and archived in the web portal. The result is shown as a detailed view in the mobile app, and as a PDF document that is available both in the app and the web portal.

Investigation Tasks

As organizational support for noise investigation, technicians can view where investigations are pending in their vicinity based on their current location, allowing them to work efficiently. This data can be imported into your Noisehund web portal to make it available. Using freely configurable extra fields, you can store extra information for each planned investigation, e.g., linking to an issue tracking system. Configuration Investigation planning must be activated in the App Settings in the portal.

Local History and Maximum Values

Recently measured values are often useful for comparison (for hot-warm-cold searching). Maximum Values The current maximum value in dBuV is prominently displayed in the top left Left value = current maximum value Right value = trailing indicator of maximum values, i.e., the peak value of recently received data. Reset by double-tapping, also resets when switching bands or if connection is lost for more than 15 seconds Simply tap to open the local history.

Long-Term Measurement & Recording

Long-Term Measurement Introduction The long-term measurement enables the import of data recorded over an extended period with the nBox-Tool, and works analogously to the corresponding functionality in the nBox-Tool. The data is imported into the app and integrated into a measurement campaign. The imported data includes 15-minute values of the noise level over the selected recording period. In the PDF report, the 15-minute view is displayed with the additionally captured information.

Measurement Campaign

A measurement campaign is a container for multiple related measurements. It enables grouping related measurements (e.g., all in an area, such as in the vicinity of a transformer station), documenting them together, and creating a comprehensive report. Example PDF of a measurement campaign with all 4 measurement types (14 MB). The following measurements are only possible when using measurement campaigns: Full PLC Checks Channel Measurements (PHY Channel) Long-Term Measurements When using measurement campaigns, capturing noise sources must also be done within measurement campaigns.
